Indian-origin Manpreet Monica Singh became the first female Sikh judge in the US marking. At the oath ceremony on Friday, Singh said, “It means a lot to me because I represent H-town the most, so for it to be us, I’m happy for it,” according to a PTI report.

Who is Manpreet Monica Singh?

She was born on 16 July, in Houston, Texas, in the United States. Her father’s name is Attarjit Singh, he is an architect and businessman. She got married in 2003 and her husband’s name is Mandeep Singh. She now lives in Bellaire with her husband and two children.

Educational Background

She completed her schooling at Klein Forest High School, in Texas. She holds a law degree South Texas College of Law.

College/University: University of Texas, FBI Citizen Academy, Harvard Business School, ABA Young Lawyers Division Leadership Academy.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said, “It was a proud day for the Sikh Community, but also a proud day for all people of color who see the Diversity of the City of Houston in the Diversity of the Court”.
