Kathmandu, Nepal – A tragic plane crash occurred today in Kathmandu, Nepal, as a passenger plane went down shortly after takeoff. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, but initial reports suggest that there may have been a mechanical failure.

The plane, a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, was operated by Yeti Airlines and was en route to Pokhara, a popular tourist destination in Nepal. The flight, RA-202, took off from Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport at 9:20 AM local time and was scheduled to arrive in Pokhara at 10:25 AM. However, just minutes after takeoff, the plane crashed in a densely populated area near the airport.

The crash resulted in the deaths of all 23 passengers and crew members. In addition, at least 50 people on the ground were injured, and several homes and buildings were severely damaged. Emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to the scene, and rescue efforts are still ongoing.

The victims of the crash include Nepali citizens, as well as tourists from various countries including India, China, and the United States. The victims’ identities have not yet been released, but the families of those on board have been notified.

This is a tragic event that has caused great sorrow and loss in Nepal. The country’s Prime Minister, K P Sharma Oli, has expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and ordered an investigation into the cause of the crash. The Nepalese government has also announced that it will provide financial assistance to the families of the victims.
